After a severe fall of 12 meters, Niels Kristian walks again after rehabilitation with the Combi Bike Plus mobility exerciser
Niels Kristian Kjær sustained a number of serious injuries after severe fall. A good three months of intensive exercising with the Combi Bike Plus mobility exerciser from Lemco Mobility in Elsinore, Denmark, helped him walk again after several complicated ankle fractures.
Needed extra rehabilitation
After his accident, the general practitioner from Vester Sottrup near Sønderborg, Niels Kristian Kjær, promptly began a rehabilitation program provided by the local municipality to return to work.
While his arm healed relatively quickly, his legs required additional training to regain walking ability. In August 2022, Niels Kristian Kjær reached out to Lemco Mobility in Elsinore to rent a Combi Bike Plus he had discovered online.
The bi-weekly municipal rehabilitation sessions were insufficient for his needs. However, by using the Combi Bike Plus at home, Niels Kristian Kjær was able to intensify his training, accelerating his recovery process.
A quick path to rehabilitation at home
Beginning in August 2022, Niels Kristian Kjær dedicated himself to daily half-hour exercise sessions on the Combi Bike Plus, covering approximately ten kilometres in each session. His commitment to this routine was unwavering.
On December 15, 2022, marking a significant milestone in his recovery, Niels Kristian Kjær returned the rented Combi Bike Plus to Lemco Mobility in Elsinore.
He made the journey from his hometown of Vester Sottrup, a distance of 360 kilometres. Remarkably, he completed this journey walking, a testament to his rapid and successful recovery, visibly radiating joy and satisfaction.
High success rate in exercising after injuries
Lemco Mobility reports that just approximately 30 percent of its Combi Bike Plus units are returned by individuals who rented them for rehabilitation purposes following temporary injuries, similar to the case of Niels Kristian Kjær.
These individuals have successfully regained satisfactory mobility after their injuries, enabling them to resume daily life activities.
The Combi Bike Plus has proven to be an effective solution for both short-term and long-term rehabilitation needs.
With the Combi Bike Plus you can:
- exercise legs and arms simultaneously while sitting in a chair or wheelchair
- exercise with BEAT (Body Energy Accumulating Technology) even if you have little or no leg strength
- experience a silent, vibration-free and smooth pedal stroke
- easily adjust resistance on a scale from 0-9
- easily see on the display how fast and far you can “ride” within a certain time
- actively exercvise on a compact and stable manuped that does not require power
- easily exercise in your own home as a complement to public physiotherapy.
Although the Combi Bike Plus is the best manuped on the market, it is still priced at the low end compared to other exercisers and old-fashioned manupeds and exercisers with motor on the market, when considering the design for ease of use and durability.
