Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)

Empowering Independence Through Specialized Exercise Equipment since 1995

For individuals with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), maintaining physical fitness is crucial and often challenging.

Our focus is on providing specialized exercise equipment, designed for safe and effective use both at home and for use in professional rehabilitation centers. Our exercisers are the preferred exerciser for years by many SCI injured whether Complete or Incomplete.

A C4 spinal cord injury, resulting in tetraplegia or quadriplegia, causes paralysis in all four limbs due to damage to the fourth cervical vertebra.

This condition severely limits voluntary movement below the neck, often impairing respiratory function. Individuals may retain some shoulder and bicep movement but typically lose control over wrists and hands.

It is possible to exercise with COMBI BIKE Plus for indviduals C4 Injury incomplete.  We advise using ActiveHands to ensure hands stay on the handles.

A C6 spinal cord injury involves damage to the sixth cervical vertebra and commonly results in partial quadriplegia.

C6 Injury typically allows for some wrist control, but often results in limited hand function and paralysis in the trunk and legs.

Individuals with a C6 injury may be able to extend their wrists and have some shoulder and bicep movement, enhancing their capacity for self-care.

The Combi Bike Plus handles are designed to be used by C6 injured. ActiveHands might be needed to keep hands on handles.

T6 spinal cord injury, involving damage to the sixth thoracic vertebra, typically results in paraplegia.

T6 Injury predominantly affects the lower half of the body, resulting in paralysis of the trunk and legs.

Individuals with a T6 injury maintain normal arm and upper body movement, enabling a T6 injured to exercise with COMBI BIKE Plus with great benefits.

L1 spinal cord injury, involving damage to the first lumbar vertebra, typically results in paraplegia.

L1 injury primarily affects the lower body, causing paralysis or weakness in the hips and legs. Individuals with an L1 injury often retain full upper body function, allowing for significant independence in daily activities.

COMBI BIKE Plus is the ideal exerciser for individuals with L1 Injury.

Stiff joints and muscles and cold legs are well known for SCI Injured.

The movement reduces the risk of DVT and increases Quality Of Life for individuals with SCI.

Exercise with Combi Bike plus  stimulates abdominal muscles, promoting better digestion by aiding in the movement of food through the digestive tract.

This can help prevent issues like constipation that individuals with SCI may often face.

I have now had my Combi bike for a little more than half a year.

I am extremely pleased with the bike, as it has improved my breathing, so I have become better at playing the saxophone 🙂 my lung capacity has greatly improved in sports, it gives better concentration, my stomach function has improved, so I go to the toilet more often without various aids.

It is a super way of exercise, and I can even watch TV at the same time, so I end up cycling almost every day, highly recommended!

Best regards,
